Radiant heat is gaining high popularity these days. It is a system of heating a room by heating one of its surfaces such as walls or a floor. The old method of warming was equipped with radiators that were situated in the corners of the room. But the problem with this means was that to warm the whole room they needed to get very hot, and if a person touched them accidentally he could get burned. One more disadvantage of this system was that they warmed the room non-uniformly, mostly the space around them while in the opposite corner of the room it was still cold.

The modern system of radiant heating is totally different owing to utilizing broad surfaces. The principle of operation of system is founded on thermal radiation and is similar to the previous techniques. Temperature and heating radiation are peculiar to any object. The ability of objects to absorb heat from nearby structures permits to use heating radiation of the floor to warm your feet, for example. Another technique of heating is called forced air system. Its purpose is to blow warmed air into the rooms of the house.

The minus of this system is that forced air heats small parts of different origin: dust, spores, mold and others, so this system can not be applied in the houses where people with allergies live. What is more, hot air has only local action, it doesn't warm the room. As for radiant heat, it's designed to let the heat rise uniformly from the floor, in such a way, the room is warmed evenly and supports the temperature during longer period of time. The radiant heating technique is highly efficient in large houses. Forced air means works for small houses, but remember about allergy troubles. Make sure your home is insulated, so the heat will not be lost through windows chinks or ceiling.

There are three kinds of radiant heating: electric system founded on electric wires, air system based on hot air under the floor, and hydronics based on the application of hot water under the floor. Heating procedures are numerous and it is your right to decide which one suits your best. But as the practical experience shows the most effective way to heat a house is radiant heating.
